How Clarity Fuels Business Growth
I recently had the pleasure of appearing on the Beyond Potential podcast.
The podcast - run by leadership coaches Tom Emery and Tom Mason - is informative and entertaining, supporting leaders to maximise their potential and perform at their best. They just celebrated their 1-year anniversary of the podcast, so I am taking a moment to reflect on our conversation.
We covered a lot of ground in the episode, discussing the power of insight and how it can drive business performance.
The conversation really got under the skin of what we do at Aviatrix, and there was one key theme that stood out across our chat: clarity.
Curiosity Fuels Clarity
I’ve always been curious. Since I was young, I have been asking lots of questions (sometimes awkward - always persistent!). That same instinct is what drives our business today.
In a world where businesses are overwhelmed by data, what they need is clarity. Because when you’re unclear, you stall - and when you know, you move.
At Aviatrix, we use research to uncover how customers really experience your brand. We unearth what they value, what they’re frustrated by, and where there’s a spark between you and them. The spark is everything - it fuels loyalty, growth, and innovation.
Your Business Lives Beyond the Office Walls
Your business is a living, breathing thing. It doesn’t just exist in your head or boardroom, it exists in the minds of your customers, employees, and partners.
That’s why gaining insight straight from your audience is so powerful. When you hear their words, see their faces, and feel their experiences, you can’t help but see your business differently.
It’s not about collecting feedback for the sake of it. It’s about gaining clarity on what matters most, so you can act with intention.
Insight Is Only Powerful if You Use It
In the podcast, we touched on something that regularly comes up in our work, which is the fear of feedback. Whether you’re an individual awaiting a 360 review, or a brand asking for customer input, there’s often a moment of apprehension when awaiting feedback.
But, in my experience, insight almost always brings more reassurance than challenge. Customers who’ve chosen to work with you usually want to help you get better, because they care. They’re invested in your success, and when you open up that dialogue, you unlock opportunities.
The key is to do something with the insight.
From Insight to Action
When done well, research doesn’t just tell you what’s happening, it reveals why it’s happening and what you can do next. That clarity is what makes it transformative.
Insight helps you make better decisions, identify blind spots, and connect with the people who matter most.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to go next, don’t turn away, get curious. Ask questions and be ready to listen - you might just find the clarity you’ve been looking for.
